SEC Football Standings 2012: Georgia sews up East, Alabama in driver's seat for West crown

New, 1 comment

Florida, despite a 10-1 overall record and 7-1 SEC record, cannot qualify for the SEC title game.

As the SEC's regular season schedule comes to a close next weekend, only the West division is still up for grabs, as the Georgia Bulldogs have clinched the East division and the berth in the SEC Championship Game that comes with it.

With one game remaining against the Auburn Tigers, the Alabama Crimson Tide can clinch their spot in the game with a victory next weekend. A loss would open the opportunity up for the LSU Tigers or Texas A&M Aggies to claim a berth in the title game.

The Florida Gators, despite finishing 7-1 in conference and 10-1 overall, cannot qualify for the SEC Championship Game and will finish their season against the Florida State Seminoles next weekend.
