Basketball is back on a boat.
The second annual Carrier Classic takes place Friday when the Florida men's basketball team faces Georgetown. The game will be played on a ship off the coast of Jacksonville, Fla.
It'll be the first game of the season for Florida. The Gators are coming off a 26-11 season and a second-place finish in the Southeastern Conference.
Florida returns leading scorer Kenny Boynton from last year's squad. The senior averaged 15.9 points per game. The team will also bring back 6'9 center Patric Young, who averaged 10.2 points per game and hauled in 238 rebounds.
The Gators lost shooting guard Bradley Beal to the NBA last season. Beal was the team's second-leading scorer and would have been a sophomore this year.
It will be the third game of the day played on a naval ship. Marquette and Ohio State will play on a ship off the coast of Charleston, S.C., and Syracuse will play San Diego State off the coast of San Diego.
The second annual Carrier Classic will tip off at 9 p.m. Friday. The game will be shown on the NBC Sports Network.
