Florida vs. Georgetown 2012 score update: Gators' lead 27-23 at the half

The Gators have been a bit careless with the ball in the first half but their stifling zone defense has allowed Florida to take a 27-23 lead over Georgetown in the Navy Marine Corps Classic.

Florida has already turned the ball over eight times and they haven't been able to get their three-point game going with the wind affecting their shots (3-of-10 from beyond the arc). Yet with how cohesive they've been defensively, Georgetown has not been able to get hardly anything going.

The Hoyas have shot 37 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from downtown in the first 20 minutes of action with Nate Lubick and Otto Porter's intermediate game being the only thing consistently working.

And even with how suffocating their defense has been, the Gators have managed to stay out of foul trouble with only five total.

Will Yeguete (eight points, four rebounds) and Erik Murphy (seven points) have led the charge for Florida so far. They'll have to get their bench going though in the second half as their backup unit has yet to contribute a single point.
