Several local teams were in action Wednesday night, including the Florida Gators, who defeated Southeast Louisiana, 82-43. The Gators held a 17-point lead at halftime and were never threatened in the second half.

Florida's Mike Rosario led all scorers with 20 points on 8-13 shooting and also pulled down six rebounds. Two other players scored in double figures for the Gators. The win improved Florida's record to 8-1.

Elsewhere, Florida International fell 79-55 to the Louisville Cardinals. Cold shooting cost the Panthers a shot at the upset, as they shot just 33.3 percent from the field, including a 5-18 effort from three-point range. Tymell Murphy was the only Panther in double figures, scoring 12 points.

North Florida lost its fourth game in a row when it fell 74-64 to Portland on Wednesday. Travis Wallace scored 27 points on 11-17 shooting for Ospreys, but he was matched by Portland's Kevin Bailey, who also scored 27.
