If you are looking for quality quarterback play and offensive juggernauts, Jordan-Hare Stadium on this Saturday evening is the last place you would ever want to be. The Auburn Tigers lead the Florida Gators 7-6 in a war of offensive attrition, with neither team able to generate anything on offense through the first half of play.
Auburn quarterback Barrett Trotter is a ghastly two for eight in the half, for just 33 yards. He has however accounted for the lone touchdown in the game, connecting with DeAngelo Benton on a 25 yard pass play.
Florida, besieged by injury at quarterback, started Jacoby Brissett. The freshman is five of 10 for 45 yards and an interception in the first two quarters of play. Chris Rainey has 12 carries for 34 yards, but appears to be worn down without the timeshare he normally has with the now-inured Jeff Demps.
Caleb Sturgis has accounted for all the Florida points, via 47 and 25 yard field goals. Something tells me we will see more field goals in the second half.
