Florida Vs. Furman Score Update: Gators On Upset Alert As Furman Leads 22-7

The Florida Gators got the football first against the Furman Paladins and slowly plodded down the football field. It didn't help the Gators offense much that explosive running back Chris Rainey went down on the first drive of the game. The Gators drive stalled out around mid-field and Caleb Sturgis missed a field go.

The Paladins took over with great field position and went right down the field thanks to two 20+ yard runs. Jerodis Williams punched the ball in from 1-yard out, but the extra point was missed to give Furman the early 6-0 lead. On Florida's ensuing possession they were backed up after a poor return and penalty, then the football was snapped over John Brantley's head, giving Furman a safety. Furman goes up 8-0.

Furman got the ball back after the free kick and immediately went right back down the field. The Gators couldn't seem to contain the option on the drive and then Furman quarterback Chris Forcier hit David Hendrix for a 31-yard touchdown pass, putting the Paladins up 15-0. It looked like Furman was going to pull away from Florida, as the Gators looked absolutely flat, but Brantley drove the Gators down the field and connected with Jordan Reed for a touchdown to get on the board.

The Paladins weren't done in the first quarter however, as Furman busted out the trick play as Colin Anderson connected with Sederrik Cunningham for the 47-yard touchdown pass to put Furman up 22-7 over the Gators.
