The Florida Gators special teams and defense put together a spectacular performance and the Gators held on for a 24-17 victory in the 2012 Gator Bowl.
The victory helped the Gators avoid their first losing season since 1979.
Florida scored 14 points on special teams, blocking a punt and getting a 99 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
The Gators defense came to play as well, holding the Buckeyes to under 300 yards of total offense while forcing 2 turnovers and sacking Ohio State Quarterback Braxton Miller six times.
Florida was outgained by Ohio State 293-261.
Florida Gator QB John Brantley had a decent ballgame, completing 12 of 16 passes for 132 yards and a touchdown. He also accounted for three turnovers, fumbling once, botching a snap and throwing a pick.
Miller finished 18 of 23 for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns.
OSU running back Dan Herron was held to 82 yards on 12 carries.
Ohio State finished the season 6-7, their first losing season since 1988.
