The Florida Gators are one of nine teams to get Nike's new Hyper Elite Platinum uniforms, the company announced Wednesday.
Nike touts the uniforms' light weight and breathability, as well as environmental impact. "The fabric of the Nike Hyper Elite Platinum shorts are made from 100 percent recycled polyester while the jersey fabric is made from at least 96% recycled polyester," according to Nike. In addition, the Platinum uniforms are five percent lighter than the previous Hyper Elite models, allowing for improved movement.
The uniforms feature a platinum base highlighted with school colors, which in Florida's case means orange trim around the neck and leg openings. Blue trim appears on the sides of the shorts and jersey.

Florida will wear these new threads just once during the 2011/12 season, in a matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers on Feb. 11.
