Carrier Classic 2012: Florida Put Game Together In A Month

One would think that a big event such as the Carrier Classic being played on an aircraft carrier would take months of advanced planning.

Wrong.

According to Gator Nation, promoters said that the idea only came up roughly a month ago, and the team immediately began reworking its schedule to be able to pull it off. It wasn't until just earlier this week that Florida was able to get Georgetown to be able to play.

After shuffling some teams around, Florida's schedule will look dramatically different than first believed for 2012-2013. Florida was supposed to open the season on Nov. 9 against Central Florida, but that game was moved to Nov. 23 to open up the date. The hodge-podge of games at the end of November led Florida to move their contest with Yale to Jan. 6.

All in all, it is an impressive feat to pull off in order for the once-in-a-lifetime event to happen.
