The Florida Gators will use the bye week before their game next Saturday, Oct. 6 against the LSU Tigers to get healthy. Five players were held out of the Gators' win over the Kentucky Wildcats, while two players were injured during the game.
Offensive tackle Chaz Green, defensive tackles Dominique Easley and Sharrif Floyd, fullback Trey Burton and tight end Jordan Reed should all be available to play against the Tigers.
Linebacker Jelani Jenkins, who fractured his thumb in the game against the Texas A&M Aggies, could play with a cast on his hand. However, offensive tackle Matt Patchan will likely miss the LSU game with a strained pectoral muscle.
The Gators were given Monday off to rest, they will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and then be given the weekend off for rest again. Thursday will be the day the team will start preparation for LSU. In an interview by Robbie Andreau of The Gainesville Sun, head coach Will Muschamp said there is a lot of room for improvement with this team:
"We've got three huge days to improve,"he said. "They are opportunities for our team to get better. We met yesterday as a team, and I told our guys, starting with me all the way down, we all have room for improvement.
