Miami Marlins Logo And Uniform Unveiling: Details On The Event

The Miami Marlins are getting ready to unveil their new logos and uniforms tonight – see the leaked pictures here – and they are attempting to make tonight’s ceremony as ritzy and exciting as possible. They have built up excitement about the team over the past week by being linked to multiple high-profile free agents, including Albert Pujols, so tonight’s ceremony feels like more than just a uniform unveiling: it’s the beginning of a new era for the Marlins franchise.

For everyone curious how the event will unfold tonight, here are the details provided by MLB.com:

  • The event will take place at the Marlins’ new ballpark starting at 9:00pm EST, and there will be a live stream on Marlins.com. It does not appear that fans will be allowed to enter the ballpark until after the main festivities at 11pm tonight.
  • There will also be a live concert (“Mr. Worldwide” Pitbull, whoever that is) and a presentation by team owner Jeff Loria, so the actual uniform unveiling will not happen until closer to 9:50pm.
  • Team manager Ozzie Guillen will speak. Also, the following players will be on hand to model the new uniforms: Emilio Bonifacio, John Buck, Omar Infante, Josh Johnson, Logan Morrison, Ricky Nolasco, Hanley Ramirez, Anibal Sanchez and Gaby Sanchez
  • The new team gear will be available to purchase at the stadium starting at 11pm. Also, fans will be able to purchase merchandise in select locations around Miami throughout the weekend.
