Boston Bruins Put Florida Panthers Down, 8-0

The Bruins had too much everything as a well rested Stanley Cup champion poured it on against the tired Florida Panthers on the second night of a road back-to-back.

14 different Bruins got onto the scoresheet against two different goalies last night. Jose Theodore allowed four scores on 14 shots in the first period as Brad Marchand scored a shorty on a beautiful give and go for the game winner with five minutes gone in the first. Milan Lucic, Benoit Pouliot and Dennis Seidenberg added markers for Boston.

Scott Clemmensen took over in net starting in the second period for the Panthers, but the game was pretty much over. Clemmensen allowed four goals on 21 shots over the final two periods. Gregory Campbell and Patrice Bergeron tallied markers in the second and Brad Marchand scored two more in the third to complete a hat trick on a night the Panthers would probably rather forget.

Tukka Rask made 30 saves for the shutout.

Hits: Panthers, 18-14 (Mike Weaver led all players with four).

Blocked Shots: Panthers, 16-13 (Erik Gudbranson and Keaton Ellerby led the Panthers with three each).

Faceoffs: Bruins, 35-20 (Tim Kennedy, Tomas Kopecky and Mike Santorelli split their faceoffs while Shawn Matthias won one of 13).

Shots On Goal: Bruins, 35-30 (Evgeny Dadonov and Shawn Matthias took four shots apiece.

Score: Boston 8, Florida 0
