Panthers Vs. Flyers Recap: Florida Holds On For Huge Road Win

The Florida Panthers went into Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday night and pulled off a huge 2-1 road win over the Flyers. Scott Clemmensen, who's seen little action lately, was dynamite for Kevin Dineen. The Cats' netminder stopped 35 of 36 shots the Flyers put on him, and withstood a relentless barrage in the final minutes of the game to make Florida's 2-1 lead hold up.

It was a relatively clean final period, with no power play chances for either team. Eric Wellwood was the only Flyer to score - a flukey goal in the second period that hit off a Panther defenseman. Clemmensen did not let it get to him over the final 30 minutes of the game. Miraculously, the Cats put only 13 shots on goal but managed to sneak two by Ilya Bryzgalov. The Cats escape and hold a five-point lead in the Southeast Division. They now head to Carolina where they will face the Hurricanes on the second night of back-to-back road games.
