PHOTO: Maryland To Wear Turtle-Pattern Helmets Saturday At FSU

Perhaps no team in college football--okay, maybe the Oregon Ducks--is as sartorially adventurous as the Maryland Terrapins. They've worn a different outfit every week, and opened their season in this state flag-themed number.

Their assault on tradition--and, one might argue, good taste--continues this Saturday when they visit the Florida State Seminoles at Doak Campbell stadium. Via his Twitter account, Terps head coach Randy Edsall announced his club would debut a new turtle shell-themed helmet against FSU. Have a look at the helmet:

Check the rest of Maryland's ensemble after the jump.

Here's the jersey/pant combination the Terps will wear. Note the red-to-black gradient on the numbers, as well as the shell-pattern panels--echoing the helmet--on the pants:

I have to say I like the helmet on its own, but the rest of the Terps' duds don't do much for me. What about you?

The Seminoles take on the Terrapins this Saturday, Oct. 22, at 3:30 PM Eastern. For complete FSU coverage, please visit Tomahawk Nation.
