NC State Vs. Florida State Score Update: Noles Take Early 10-0 Lead

The NC State Wolfpack stalled the Florida State Seminoles on their opening drive, but promptly went three-and-out when they got the football. After a long punt return by Greg Reid, where if not for stepping out of bounds, would have been a marvelous return for a touchdown, the Noles offense got going. Quarterback E.J. Manuel hit receiver Christian Green on the sideline that Green took 32 yards down the the NC State 7-yard line. The Noles scored on the very next play on an option, as Manual pitched the ball late to freshman Devonta Freeman, who scored the touchdown from 5 yards out as the Noles took an early 7-0 lead. On the play, Manuel sucked in four NC State defenders, Freeing up Freeman for the easy pitch.

NC State's next drive stalled out after picking up a first down this time, but was forced to punt after consecutive incomplete passes from quarterback Mike Glennon, the Wolfpack punted once again. The Noles added to their lead on the next drive with a 43-yard field goal from kicker Dustin Hopkins. The drive stalled after back to back big gains in the passing game from Manuel, who hit tight end Nick O'Leary for 25 yards. Ultimately, the drive stalled and FSU added a field goal to push their lead to 10-0.
