Miami Vs. Florida State Final: Noles Capitalize On Miami Mistakes, Win 23-19

After the Florida State Seminoles struggled offensively through the first half with just 59 yards of offense but a 17-7 lead thanks to special teams and Miami mistakes, their offense got going in the second half. When the fourth quarter started, quarterback E.J. Manuel had completed 11 of 12 passes for 119 yards, twice as much as the first half. The Noles offense was able to move down the field on the Hurricanes defense, while the Hurricanes offense was stifled by the Noles defensive line.

Once wide receiver Tommy Streeter was knocked out of the game with a knee injury, the Hurricanes couldn't seem to get anything going offensively until the middle of the fourth quarter. Miami mounted a drive thanks to a nifty 28-yard scramble by Jacory Harris. Two plays later, the Hurricanes punched the ball in from the goal line to shrink FSU's lead to 23-13 after a failed two-point conversion.

Florida State put the game away on the ensuing drive after freshman Devonta Freeman picked up a first down on a 15-yard run to keep time ticking off the clock. The Noles gave the ball back to Miami with a little over three minutes left however, and assisted by some penalties including a questionable call on linebacker Nigel Bradham that had him ejected from the game. The Hurricanes made the score respectable with the late touchdown on the drive, but couldn't get the onside kick.

Florida State improves to 7-3 on the season with the 23-19 win.
