Florida State Football Recruiting: Seminoles Prepare For Impressive National Signing Day

The Florida State Seminoles are typically one of the best college teams in the nation at recruiting, and it appears that 2012 will not be any different. They currently have a total of 16 commitments from recruits -- including 9 in ESPNU's top 150 list -- and are in the mix to add up to five more commitments today. This easily gives the 'Noles the best recruiting class in the ACC, and puts them in the top five in the nation.

For the full list of current Seminole recruits, check out this useful signing board put together by the folks at Tomahawk Nation. Here are some of the big names that have already committed:

DE Mario Edwards Jr.
DE Dante Fowler
QB Jameis Winston
RB Mario Pender

And according to Tomahawk Nation, the Seminoles are involved on a number of players that will sign tomorrow:

Going into National Signing Day, the Seminoles look to try to close at an elite level. Potential prospects that the coaches have been looking to close with include five star defensive tackle, Eddie Goldman; four star cornerback Ronald Darby; four star defensive end Leonard Williams, defensive back Colin Blake, and four star linebacker and current Miami commitment Reggie Northup. Also, the coaches turned up the heat late on prospects five star cornerback Tracy Howard, four star linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemmons, and late bloomer offensive linemen Adam Duckett.

This has the potential to be an elite class for Florida State, pushing them into the upper tier of schools in terms of overall recruiting class. Only time will tell how it all shakes out, but things are looking good.
