The Florida State Seminoles held a one point lead at halftime over the Cincinnati Bearcats, and the teams battled back and fourth the entire second half. The game got very physical, as the Bearcats got themselves in a little bit of foul trouble with their big guys, as both Yancy Gates and Justin Jackson both found themselves with four fouls late in the second half. Bad turnovers by the Seminoles allowed the Bearcats to score quick points in transition.
Despite the foul trouble, the Bearcats were still able to take the lead and capitalize on Florida State's bad and careless turnovers. As the game wound down with a six-point lead by Cincinnati, the Noles began fouling trying to catch up with the Bearcats with hopes of getting some quick rebounds and points. It was all for nought however, as the Bearcats held on to win 62-56.
Cincinnati beats a team seeded higher than them for the first time in the school's history in the NCAA tournament, and will take on Ohio State in the Sweet Sixteen.
