The state of Florida is down to just one team in the 2012 NCAA Tournament after losses by South Florida and Florida State over the weekend. The Bulls were a No. 12 seed so their stay past the first round was unexpected, but the Seminoles likely broke a lot of brackets with their loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats late on Sunday night.
The Bearcats move on to the Sweet 16 to face Ohio State, the No. 2 seed in the East Region, where the Seminoles' loss was the only upset heading into the Sweet 16. Syracuse, Ohio St. and Wisconsin are all still alive.
South Florida lost to Ohio over the weekend, and they'll have a pretty difficult matchup against North Carolina in the Sweet 16. The other side of the Midwest regional has N.C. State, the other surprising Sweet 16 team, facing Kansas.
Florida will face a very plucky Marquette side in the next round, while the top part of their West bracket played chalk. No. 1 seed Michigan State advanced to play No. 4 seed Louisville.
Xavier is the final double-digit seed to make it to the Sweet 16, and they'll have a difficult matchup against the very talented Baylor Bears. Meanwhile, top overall seed Kentucky will face Indiana, one of the teams they have already lost to this year.
