As the new college football season fast approaches, recruiting is another thing that will be closely followed. On Wednesday, big news dropped that Maquedias Bain, a top defensive tackle recruit for the Florida State Seminoles decommitted from the team, according to an article by Bud Elliott of SB Nation. The reason he decommitted, is that Florida State was more than likely not going to be able to give him playing time early.
Bain is a three or four-star recruit on most of the major services. He has a wealth of physical talent, but is very raw. And that is at odds with his wish to play or even start as a freshman at his school of choice. The option to do so certainly was not available in Tallahassee.
Bain is already looking for his next commitment, and it could be with the Miami Hurricanes, his hometown school. Other schools that have the interest in Bain, including LSU, Alabama, USC and Florida would probably not be able to guarantee early playing time for Bain.
