Florida State University fans woke up Wednesday to rumors that troubled, but talented cornerback Greg Reid had been dismissed. Coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed the news with a morning announcement.
Former Seminoles player and coaching assistant Tamarick Vanover started the speculation over Reid's dismissal with a Wednesday morning tweet.
I HOPE GREG REID CAN LAND ON HIS FEET AFTER BEING KICKED OFF THE TEAM. MY MOMMA ALWAYS SAID THAT A HARD HEAD MAKES A SOFT BEHIND.

Reid's trouble stems from a July arrest in his home state of Georgia. The state patrol picked him up in Lowndes County for driving on a suspended license and marijuana possession. He was arrested last year for perjury, but the charges were later dropped. He did receive one-game suspension.
Following his arrest, Tomahawk Nation pointed out that Reid was likely to incur some kind of punishment from the Seminoles for his arrest. FSU's drug policy calls for players to be dismissed for three drug incidents.
One of the most electric players in the nation, the senior cornerback dazzled in the return game, running back one touchdown and 563 yards last season. On defense, he recorded 27 tackles and two interceptions.
Reid was named to the preseason All-ACC team as well as a second-team preseason All-American punt returner from CBSSports.com.
