After apology, S. Florida looks to shore up D Vs. Florida State

The South Florida Bulls know their defense has to improve for Saturday's game against the Florida St. Seminoles. Bulls defensive players regretted their performance in Saturday's 31-27 loss to the Ball St. Cardinals.

Senior linebacker Mike Lanaris posted an apologetic tweet Saturday night after the loss:

Defensive end Ryne Giddins told Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times that Saturday's game against the Seminoles is a chance for the Bulls to recapture their reputation for aggressive defense.

"This game can prove a lot to ourselves, not just to everybody else. We accept the challenge. ... We're not attacking. The front seven's starting to read stuff, which we normally don't do. We're going back to attacking, not just fitting in gaps. We're hitting people in the mouth."

Saturday's game between the Bulls and the Seminoles will kick off at Raymond James Stadium at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.
