The former Tennessee defensive coordinator could join a staff that now includes defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, who worked with Sunseri at Alabama.

With possible openings with the Florida State Seminoles at defensive end and linebacker coaching positions, former Tennessee Volunteers defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri's name has begun to emerge as a possible candidate, according to reports.

Tomahawk Nation reported Sunday that Sunersi might be considered for the open positions after he was recently relieved of his duties at Tennessee. The Seminoles also recently announced that former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive backs coach Jeremy Pruitt would take over as defensive coordinator at Florida State.

Pruitt and Sunseri worked together as part of Nick Saban's Crimson Tide staff from 2009 to 2011. Sunseri served as outside linebackers coach for Alabama

Current Florida State linebacker coach Greg Hudson has not been told of his standing with the team after defensive coordinator Mark Stoops left to take over the Kentucky Wildcats.

Before his time at Tennessee and Alabama, Sunseri was the defensive ends coach for the Carolina Panthers from 2002 to 2008.
