The Florida St. Seminoles, helped by 19 points and 11 rebounds by forward Okaro White, defeated the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Monday night, 63-48. White scored most of his points at the foul line, shooting 12-for-13 from the charity stripe. Guard Aaron Thomas scored a career-high 17 points hitting 6-of-12 from the field, but hit all five of his free throws. Guard Devon Bookert added 10 points off the bench, going 4-for-7 from the field and hitting a pair of three pointers.
As for other teams in the Sunshine State, the North Florida Ospreys dropped their third straight, losing to the Colorado St. Rams, 83-55. Guard Travis Wallace led the Ospreys with 12 points while guard Parker Smith scored 10, but shot 3-of-12 from the field. The Ospreys were out-rebounded by the Rams 41-23.
In the last game, the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats defeated the Florida Christian Suns, 102-51. The Wildcats held the Division II school to 5-of-23 shooting in the first half as they raced to a 48-17 halftime lead. Five Wildcats scored in double figures, including Adrien Coleman, who led all scorers with 23 points. Kevin Dukes, Paul Scotland and Brandon Stewart all added 14 and Alex Smith scored 10 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
