The Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles are headed in different directions, but those routes still lead to the same place as the rivals prepare to face off on the basketball court in Tallahassee at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday on ESPN2/ESPNU.
The Gators are undefeated at 6-0 and are the sixth-ranked team in the country. A balanced offense and a suffocating defense are the primary reasons the Gators have risen among the elite teams in the country this season. They are only allowing 48.5 points per game while putting up 73.8 of their own, though, this will be their first away game of the season.
The Seminoles, meanwhile, are coming off a shocking loss to Mercer, 61-56, at home on Sunday for their second straight loss following a four-game winning streak. They aren't the same team that won the ACC tournament last season and haven't been ranked since a surprising loss to South Alabama to start the year.
Knocking off the rival Gators could change it all.
