NCAA Football Rankings, Week 6: FSU No. 4 in Coaches' Poll

The Florida State Seminoles improved to 5-0 and are once again No. 4 in the Coaches' Poll

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

For the third consecutive week, the Florida State Seminoles are ranked No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll. The Seminoles received 1301 points, including one first-place vote, slightly lower than the 1306 points they received last week.

Despite a slight decline in points, the Seminoles gained ground on No. 3 LSU. FSU trails LSU by 26 points, a week after they trailed the Tigers by 55 points. In addition to LSU, the Seminoles also trail No. 2 Oregon and No. 1 Alabama.

The Florida Gators moved up a spot this week and are now No. 11. Florida received 883 points this week, their highest total of the season. After slowly climbing up the Coaches' Poll this season, the Gators will have an opportunity to make a significant jump when they face No. 3 LSU this week.

Like Florida, the Miami Hurricanes also received a season high in points finishing with 17. The Hurricanes jumped from two points to 17 after moving to 4-1. They could find themselves inside of the top 25 next week if they are able to knock off No. 10 Notre Dame on Saturday.
