The first round of the 2012 Franklin Templeton Shootout is set to begin Friday morning from Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Fla. The three-day event is one of the more unique tournaments on the calendar, with 12 teams of two working together to manage three different formats. Defending champions Keegan Bradley and Brendan Steele are back for the event, as well as players like Scott Verplank, Vijay Singh and Greg Norman.
Friday's round will be a modified alternate shot, with both players hitting from the tee box and selecting the best shot. The player who's shot was not selected will shoot next, and the players will alternate shots until the hole is finished.
The Golf Channel will have a live broadcast of Friday's round from 3-6 p.m. ET.
