Honda Classic 2013 prize money: Michael Thompson takes home over $1 million

Michael Thompson won his first PGA Tour title on Sunday. How much did the winner pocket for his victory?

In the midst of weathering of blustery day, Michael Thompson managed to shoot a one-under-par 69 on Sunday en route to capturing the 2013 Honda Classic title. The win marked Thompson's first on as a pro on the PGA Tour, and his bank account certainly appreciated his success.

Thompson took home $1,080,000 for his efforts at the PGA National Champion Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He finished nine-under par overall, defeating runner-up Geoff Ogilvy by two strokes. Ogilvy pockets $648,000 for his second-place performance.
