Maurice Jones-Drew injury: Jaguars star out in Week 8 against Packers

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew was in a walking boot and on crutches after his injury early against the Oakland Raiders, but how long will he be out?

Maurice Jones-Drew left Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders with a lower leg injury after just two carries. Jones-Drew said he hurt his foot on the first play of the game, but stayed in and after the second carry had to go to the sideline. After the Jacksonville Jaguars trainers tried to re-tape Jones-Drew's foot, he left on a cart to the locker room and reappeared in a walking boot with crutches.

Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey met with the media on Monday and revealed Jones-Drew has a foot injury and will miss this week's matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The full extent of Jones-Drew's injury is not yet known, but the Jaguars have not ruled out a lisfranc injury, which could sideline Jones-Drew for the season.

Jones-Drew had been limited running the football in the two games prior to Sunday, as the team has fallen behind early and was forced to throw the football. Without Jones-Drew in the lineup, the Jaguars were still able to move the football, that is until Blaine Gabbert went down with injury.

Jones-Drew's backup Rashad Jennings rushed the ball 21 times for just 44 yards and a touchdown.
