While it was the Jaguars that got on the scoreboard first, the Packers finished the first quarter with a four-point lead after a five-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb made it 7-3 in favor of the home team.
Neither team scored on their opening possessions, but on their second possession of the game, quarterback Blaine Gabbert led the Jaguars down the field on a drive that included a 36-yard pass play to rookie first-round draft pick, Justin Blackmon. It's the longest reception of Blackmon's young career.
However, the drive stalled in Green Bay territory and the Jaguars were forced to settle for a 38-yard field goal from Josh Scobee. On the ensuing drive, the Packers responded with a nine-play drive that went 69 yards before Rodgers found Cobb streaking across the back of the end zone.
After one quarter, Gabbert has completed six-of-eight passes for 75 yards, with three of those receptions to Blackmon, who has a career-high 61 yards receiving already.
