Maurice Jones-Drew headlined a group of five Jaguars who missed Wednesday's practice with injuries, according to Big Cat Country. In addition to Jones-Drew, fullback Greg Jones (thigh), safety Dwight Lowery (ankle), cornerback Rashean Mathis (groin) and center Brad Meester (foot) all sat out as well. Jacksonville (1-8) heads to Houston (8-1) this Sunday.
Jacksonville coach Mike Mularkey has already ruled out Jones-Drew for action this Sunday. On Nov. 8, NBC Sports reported that Jones-Drew was "about two weeks away" from returning to the field. Jones-Drew has missed four games after spraining his foot in a loss to Oakland.
The Texans got good news on the injury front Wednesday when defensive tackle Shaun Cody, running back Ben Tate and tight end Owen Daniels, all of whom missed the team's win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night, were listed as limited participants in Wednesday's practice, according to the team's injury report.
