The NFL fined Jason Babin $21,000 for a high hit to Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick last Sunday. Babin drew a roughing the passer penalty on the play, which kept a Bills touchdown drive alive.
This is not the first time this season that Babin has earned a fine from the league. A hit to Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden back in September cost him $15,750, and a horse collar tackle a couple of weeks later cost him another $15,750.
Aside from the penalty, it was an uneventful game for Babin, who was making his first appearance for the Jaguars; Jacksonville acquired him off waivers during the week prior to the game. Babin finished his Jaguars debut with four tackles and did not have a sack. He has 30 tackles this season, including 5.5 sacks. He had a career-high 18 sacks in 2011.
The Jaguars return to action this weekend against the New York Jets.
