In the latest edition of SB Nation's NFL mock draft by Dan Kadar, the Jacksonville Jaguars go for broke with the selection of West Virginia Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith at No. 2 overall.
Smith is the consensus top quarterback in the draft and has been projected to go in the top 10 to either the Jags, Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills or Arizona Cardinals.
However, with Oakland trading for Matt Flynn and the Bills signing Kevin Kolb to a deal, it appears Jacksonville and the Cardinals are the frontrunners for Smith's services.
The Jaguars have a clear path to Smith if they want him as things stand now. The Kansas City Chiefs are the only team ahead of them in the draft order but are all-but-certain not to take Smith after trading for Alex Smith and signing Chas Daniel.
The only fly in the ointment would be if the Chiefs trade back with a team that wants Smith. Kansas City has made it obvious with its actions it would like to move back, but it's unclear whether that can be pulled off.
