Jaguars Vs. Ravens: Jacksonville Takes 3-0 Lead After First Quarter

The Jacksonville Jaguars lead the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 3-0 after the first quarter on Monday Night Football. Josh Scobee drilled a 54 yard field goal towards the end of the first to give the Jags the lead. Scobee continued his perfect season but it was only his second longest field goal of the 2011 campaign, having already made a 55 yarder.

The Ravens defense may have all the hype but the first quarter was highlighted by the Jags suffocating defense. The Ravens had four three and outs and a turnover, with no first downs in the first quarter. They gained only 14 yards on 13 plays as Joe Flacco went 2 for 8.

The Jags should have had a larger lead as they threatened to convert a Ray Rice fumble into seven points. But Maurice Jones-Drew would fumble on the one yard line as the Jags were going in for the score. MJD was originally ruled down before the ball came out, but John Harbaugh challenged the play and the call was overturned. After the squandered chance, Scobee would put the Jags on the board to open the scoring on their subsequent possession.
