Jaguars Vs. Ravens: Jacksonville Beats Baltimore 12-7 On Monday Night Football

The Ravens were finally able to get on the board with just over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, capping a 90 yard, 13 play drive with an Anquan Boldin touchdown. Baltimore cut Jacksonville’s lead to 9-7 but Billy Cundiff’s subsequent onside kick would miss going ten yards by just inches.

The Jags would take over in Baltimore territory, needing only a few yards to enter Josh Scobee’s range. Scobee was Jacksonville’s MVP on Monday night and he drilled his third 50 plus yard field goal to put the Jags back up 5 – forcing an inept Joe Flacco to go the distance for a touchdown to win the game. It was a gamble by head coach Jack Del Rio – even though Scobee was clutch all night, a 51 yarder is certainly no gimme and a missed FG would have required the Ravens to only go 20 yards to be within range for what would have been a game-winning field goal.

It all worked out for Del Rio and the Jags, however, as Scobee came through again and Flacco obliged on the Ravens next possession, quickly throwing a game-ending interception to Drew Coleman. Scobee matched an NFL record with the three 50 plus yard field goals and carried the Jags to a primetime win, their second of the season in an upset over the offensively-challenged Ravens.
