Jaguars Sign Ashton Youboty And George Selvie

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed a trio of players on injured reserve yesterday, including veteran corner back Rashean Mathis with a torn ACL and offensive lineman Eben Britton, who's been dealing with lower back issues all season. Mathis is a big loss to a Jaguars back seven that has played really well the first half of the season.

To replace these two roster spots, the Jaguars will sign cornerback Ashton Youboty and defensive end and former South Florida Bull George Selvie. Youboty played college football under current Jaguars defensive coordinator Mel Tucker, who actually was involved in recruiting Youboty to Ohio State. Selvie was originally a 7th round pick by the St. Louis Rams in the 2010 NFL draft. Selvie played all 16 games, ending the season with 1.5 sacks. He was released by the Rams prior to the start of the 2011 season, when he was claimed by the Carolina Panthers, ultimately to be released again on October 5th.
