Matt Leinart was injured with under two minutes remaining in the first half against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Leinart was slammed to the ground by Jaguars' defensive end Jeremy Mincey. It appeared Leinart injured his left shoulder or arm after falling on it awkwardly with Mincey on top of him. He walked to the locker room with trainers before the half ended.
The Texans lead the Jaguars, 20-10 late in the second half. Leinart has certainly managed the game well for the Texans, completing ten of his 13 attempts in the first quarter. He threw his first touchdown pass in nearly three years, hooking up with tight end Joel Dreessen. T.J. Yates, who didn't even have time to warm up on the sidelines, replaced Leinart. It is the third Texans' quarterback to see time in the past three weeks. Matt Schaub is already out for the season.
