The Jacksonville Jaguars haven't placed their franchise tag on anyone at this moment, but with the deadline on March 5 fast approaching, it's possible the Jaguars could place their tag on defensive end Jeremy Mincey. Most believed that the team would use their franchise tag on kicker Josh Scobee, but Adam Stites of Big Cat Country reports that the team could use their tag on Mincey.
While the conventional thought in the media is that kicker Josh Scobee is the player that makes the most sense for the Jaguars to assign the franchise tag to (if they do at all), a source told me today "don't be surprised" if the Jaguars assign the franchise tag instead to defensive end Jeremy Mincey.
The official numbers for the franchise tags haven't been finalized, but the projected tag number for the 28-year old defensive end would be $10.6 million guaranteed.
