Jaguars running back Richard Murphy has been bumming rides from teammates and lamenting the loss of four championship rings from his days at LSU. Such is the life of the NFL player whose truck got stolen during training camp.
Murphy's got a lot of hardware from his time at LSU, thanks mostly to the Tigers' national title in 2007. Or, rather, he had all that. His 2006 Sugar Bowl ring, 2007 SEC and national championship rings, and a fourth ring issued by LSU were all taken from his truck, which was discovered on blocks several miles from where it was stolen.
Police are investigating the crime, but while Murphy isn't too concerned about some of the other things about the theft — broken glass, stripped rims — he's upset about the rings.
"The rims, I can get them back," Murphy said. "But the rings are something I worked for, something I take pride in at LSU. It's a real hard feeling for me."
