The Jacksonville Jaguars have had some issues with their offensive line this preseason. That is to say, they have issues with injuries decimating the unit. On Thursday evening against the Atlanta Falcons, they added another injury to the list. Guard Uche Nwaneri left the game early when quarterback Blaine Gabbert tried to toss the ball to Rashard Jennings, but the ball was mis-handled and bounced off of the back of fullback Greg Jones.
There was a scramble and Nwaneri went down. He was slow to get up, and was announced that he would be out for the rest of the game with an ankle sprain. SB Nation's Jaguars blog, Big Cat Country, notes that Nwaneri was in a walking boot after the game, via the Associated Press.
As of Friday morning, there's no official word on Nwaneri's status. The severity of his injury is unknown, as ankle sprains can vary drastically in severity from one to another. Nwaneri was mostly covered by Mike Brewster in the game after he went down with the injury.
