The Jacksonville Jaguars open up their preseason against the defending Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants on Friday night at EverBank Field. The big thing that Jaguars fans will be looking for is improvement from second year quarterback Blaine Gabbert.

Gabbert is coming off a year where he and the rest of the Jaguars quarterbacks few for the fewest amount of passing yards in the NFL. In his first year, Gabbert threw for only 2,214 yards, with 12 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He completed just under 51 percent of his passes while posting a 65.4 quarterback rating.

The Jaguars were hoping to have wide receiver Justin Blackmon available to play in this game, but he has yet to sign his rookie contract. Even if Blackmon signs this afternoon, he will not be available to play. In addition to that, it is still unknown if running back Maurice Jones-Drew will be available for the game. The running back is still holding out for a new contract and has yet to report to training camp.

The game is set for a kickoff time of 7:30 p.m. Fans can check their local listings for the television and radio broadcasts of the games.
