Texans Vs. Jaguars Score Update: Houston Up 10-0 Early

After the first quarter in the home opener for the Jaguars, they trail the Houston Texans 10-0 at EverBank Field.

The Texans won the coin toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff. On the ensuing drive, they methodically drove the field with short passing, but the drive stalled. Houston settled for a 31-yard field goal from Shayne Graham. On the ensuing possession, the Jaguars offense showed some life as they drove into Texans territory, but had to settle for a punt after J.J. Watt deflected a Blaine Gabbert throw on third down.

Both teams' defenses buckled down on the ensuing possessions, though, as each team forced a three-and-out. However, a 36-yard return by Trindon Holliday after a Bryan Anger punt put the Texans in Jacksonville territory. A few plays later, a 26-yard touchdown by Ben Tate around the right side appeared to give Houston a 9-0 lead, but the referees ruled Tate stepped out of bounds before breaking the goal line.

The Texans didn't spoil the opportunity, though, with Arian Foster running two yards for a score two plays later. The Jaguars will begin the second quarter with the ball on their own 33-yard line.
