After falling behind 14-3 in the first half, the Jaguars forced a punt on the Colts opening possession of the second half and took advantage with a 59-yard Maurice Jones-Drew touchdown run on the first play of the ensuing possession. The run cut the Indianapolis lead to 14-10 and a 47-yard Josh Scobee field goal brought the score to 14-13.
The Jaguars defense continued to find success, forcing another Colts punt, but the Jaguars passing offense continued their struggles as two incomplete passes from Blaine Gabbert forced another Bryan Anger punt.
However, the Jacksonville offense received a golden opportunity in their own territory after Paul Posluszny stepped in front of an Andrew Luck pass and intercepted it. The linebacker pitched the ball back to Dawan Landry who took it to the Jaguars 45-yard line.
The Jaguars were unable to fully capitalize, though, as Drake Nevis had a free run at Gabbert on third down and blasted the Jaguars quarterback, causing an incomplete pass. A successful Scobee field goal followed.
The fourth quarter will begin with the Jaguars in possession of the ball in Colts territory with a first down.
