Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew is trying to regain his starting spot, currently occupied by Rashad Jennings. Jones-Drew talked to reporters after Wednesday's practice as to what's his focus right now.
Rashad (Jennings) has been here a couple of months longer than I have, so I have to kind of get acclimated to the offense. I have to show them the work to get my job back.
Jones-Drew held out of all of training camp and only reported to the Jaguars' home facility back on Sept. 1. Right now, there is no indication of how much playing time he'll get in Jacksonville's week one game against the Minnesota Vikings. Jones-Drew knows that he has to work hard to get his job back.
The competition is going to be great. Rashad has been playing well throughout preseason and throughout camp. I have a lot to catch up on and get back to my old self.
