It's not a sellout, but the Miami Dolphins have sold enough tickets to Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams to avoid the game being blacked out on local television, reports the Sun Sentinel. The team sold the NFL's requirement of 85 percent of premium seats 72 hours before kickoff, enough to avoid the game from being blacked out in South Florida.
The Dolphins faced a similar prospect in their home opener against the Oakland Raiders, but bought up enough tickets to avoid a blackout. The team also needed a 24-hour extension in their last home game against the New York Jets.
The Dolphins haven't had a game blacked out on local television since Oct. 18, 1998, a game incidentally against the Rams.
Miami is 2-3 and coming off a road victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. Sunday's game against the Rams kicks off at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast by FOX.
