NFL power rankings, Week 7: Miami Dolphins rising in the power rankings

The Miami Dolphins are rising in the power rankings after a 3-3 start to the 2012 season.

After consecutive wins over the St. Louis Rams and Cincinnati Bengals, the Miami Dolphins are rising in the NFL standings and in the national power rankings.

Brian Billick of FoxSports.com ranks the Dolphins 21st, up from 22nd last week, in his weekly power rankings.

SB Nation lists Miami as the 19th best team in the league, up from the 26th spot the previous week.

ESPN.com has the Dolphins ranked the highest at 17, up two spots from last week.

At 3-3 the Dolphins are tied with every other AFC East team and will travel to New York to take on the Jets this weekend. The Dolphins lost to the Jets, 23-20, in overtime in Week 3.

Miami is led by rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill who the Dolphins selected eighth overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. In the Dolphins' three wins, Tannehill has thrown for three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Conversely, in the team's three losses, he has thrown for one touchdown and six interceptions.

Tannehill is completing 59.6 percent of his passes and has thrown for 1,454 yards through six games this season.
