The Miami Dolphins have signed H-back Dominique Jones to the practice squad. Jones was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts at the beginning of the season and made one reception for eight yards in four games for the Colts.
He was released by the Colts earlier this month and was placed on the team's practice squad. Last week he was released from the practice squad and then worked out for the Dolphins on Monday before signing with the Dolphins.
Jones played his college football at Division II Shepherd College in West Virginia. He has had experience at both tight end and fullback and is hoping to ease the scout team workload on third round draft pick Michael Egnew. Right now it is unknown which player on the practice squad that Jones will replace.
The Dolphins play their next game against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
