NFL picks Week 9: Dolphins vs. Colts

The Miami Dolphins face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9, and most experts seem to see the Miami defense gaining an advantage over Andrew Luck and the Colts offense.

The Miami Dolphins face the Indianapolis Colts in a Week 9 contest between two teams that are both beating expectations. That's made the game a tough one to call, but a survey of expert picks from around the league seems to show most calling for a Dolphins victory.

SB Nation's Joel Thorman picks the Fins to win, suggesting that their defense (which hasn't allowed more than two touchdowns in a game since September) will give them the edge. He calls for a narrow victory, 17-13, but the Colts still wouldn't cover the +2.5 spread.

CBS Sports' crop of experts are split picking against the spread, with half thinking the Dolphins will cover and half thinking the Colts will. Picking straight up, six of the writers pick Miami and the number predicting an Indianapolis victory drops to three. At Yahoo! Sports, only Les Carpenter picks Indy, with Mike Silver, Jason Cole and the collected Yahoo! users picking Miami. It's worth noting that Carpenter is in last place in the picks contest by at least 10 points.

The Dolphins have lost their three most recent games to the Colts, but all three featured Peyton Manning under center for the boys in blue.
