Matt Moore Injury: Dolphins Quarterback Suffers Potential Concussion

When Chad Henne went down with a season ending injury earlier, the Dolphins elected not to acquire another quarterback and just roll with Matt Moore and J.P. Losman on the active roster. Now, according to Omar Kelly of the Sentinel, Moore could be out with a concussion, which would leave just Losman on the roster.

The hit forced an incompletion and Moore rolled on the floor for a while before being helped off the field. He suffered a head injury and J.P. Losman finished the game, playing the entire fourth quarter as the Dolphins trailed 24-10. If it is determined that Moore suffered a concussion he’ll be subjected to baseline tests next week, which will determine his playing status for Sunday’s road game against the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins typically shy away from acknowledging that players suffer concussions to avoid such testing, which is mandated by the NFL.

Losman finished the game on Sunday completing six of his 10 passing attempts for 60 yards, but he was sacked in the endzone for a safety. Moore was a delightful surprise when he stepped in for Henne earlier this year, but I'm not sure it's fair to expect the Dolphins to catch lightning in a bottle twice in the same season.
