Dolphins Coaching Update: Joe Philbin Starts To Assemble Staff

Joe Philbin will be the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins, and while the team is busy scouting players at the Senior Bowl, Philbin has began building his staff; according to Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel. He speculates that Philbin could be interested in bringing Mike Sherman, his former boss, on as an offensive coordinator after Sherman was let go by Texas A&M this year. Here are some comments Philbin had to say about his new job.

"The real thing that intrigued me about these guys is they kept playing hard after an 0-7 start. That was as much of a draw as any one particular individual, or any one side of the ball," Philbin said. "I was impressed the guys stuck together. They must have good characters in the locker room. If you don't have character when you're 0-7 it can spiral out of control, and obviously that didn't happen."
